IT Workers Share the Most Idiotic Things Non-Techies Have Told Them

i remember one dude that came in last week that tried to convince me that his optical drive was his hard drive

Oh man one of my favorite stories is when i was still working at Computer Wizards and this guy brought in his laptop saying the screen stopped working and he had just bought it from his friend.

We opened it up to take a look. The screen is gone. He asks if we can fix his broken screen.

We turn it around and slowly touch a finger to the back panel.

“Sir this computer doesn’t have a screen. Would you like us to order you a replacement?”

“Gone?! He told me that’s just what it looked like when it was turned off!”

We may have ruined a friendship that day.
